Chung Ha presents her two hits ‚Gotta Go‘ (2:02) and ‚Snapping‘ (8:50) at this performance on 2019-30-11 at the Melon Music Awards. Admittedly, it took me a while to realize the potential of Chung Ha and could absorb the energy that is in her songs. Although ‚Gotta Go‘ appeared months before ‚Snapping‘, I first had eyes and ears for ‚Snapping‘. I also chose this as a ‚ringtone‘ for my smartphone. It wasn’t before the end of 2019 that I realized what a great song ‚Gotta Go‘ is and with what a great intimacy Chung Ha sings. Her movements always captivate me, impressing again and again how focused Chung Ha is, especially in the intro.
Wonderful as Chung Ha recognizes her inner contradictions, her light and shadow side in ‚Another Myself In Me‘ (6:02) and how she portrays these two sides. I find it particularly nice that she understands that neither side can win, but that both exist when she concludes with: ‚I choose to stand in the middle‘.

Bei diesem Auftritt am 30.11.2019 anlässlich des Melon Music Awards präsentiert Chung Ha ihre beiden Hits ‚Gotta Go‘ (2:02) und ‚Snapping‘ (8:50). Zugegeben, ich benötigte eine Weile, um das Potenzial von Chung Ha zu erkennen und diese Energie, die in ihren Songs steckt aufzunehmen. Obwohl ‚Gotta Go‘ Monate vor ‚Snapping‘ erschienen war, hatte ich zuerst Augen und Ohren für ‚Snapping‘. Ich wählte dieses auch als ‚Klingelton‘ für mein Smartphone. Erst Ende 2019 erkannte ich, was für ein toller Song ‚Gotta Go‘ ist und mit welcher Innigkeit Chung Ha diesen singt. Ihre Bewegungen ziehen mich immer wieder in ihren Bann, beeindruckend auch wie fokussiert Chung Ha ist, hier besonders im Intro zu sehen.
Wunderbar wie Chung Ha ihre inneren Widersprüche, ihre Licht- und Schattenseite erkennt in ‚Another Myself In Me‘ (6:02) und wie sie diese zwei Seiten darstellt. Besonders schön finde ich, dass sie versteht, dass keine Seite gewinnen kann, sondern dass beide existieren, wenn sie schließt mit: ‚I choose to stand in the middle‘.
