My first encounter 
with K-POP

For me all started in 2012.  On Youtube I discovered this video of the 1st Japan Tour 2011 of Girls Generation ( Seo Nyeo Shi Dae / 소녀 시대 ) in full length. The thumbnail of the video was somehow distinctive. For over an hour I saw a music show like I had never seen before, I hardly got my mouth closed so amazing it was. The girls fascinated me. Already the opening was powerful. The original video that I watched no longer exists on Youtube, but one of the whole show, which however shows the full intro. I do not know if I would have gone further if I had to look the intro first. That’s a bit lengthy – sorry – my opinion. So I was able to get in directly when the show has started (the video included here jumps right at this point: 4:10).

I was somehow infected with this K-POP virus and did not know it yet. I just wanted to know who these girls are, and where they come from and searched Youtube again and again for SNSD and K-POP. Already at that time I also discovered that in addition to K-POP there was also J-POP, but in 2012 J-POP did not impress me. Recently I have watched again J-POP videos and some impressed me, more in upcoming posts.

Meine erste Begegnung 
mit K-POP

Angefangen hat alles für mich 2012. Auf Youtube entdeckte ich dieses Video von der 1. Japan-Tournee 2011 von Girls-Generation ( SNSD = Seo Nyeo Shi Dae = 소녀시대 ) in voller Länge. Das Thumbnail des Videos war irgendwie markant. Über eine Stunde sah ich eine Musik Show, wie ich sie noch nie zuvor gesehen hatte, ich bekam meinen Mund kaum zu vor Staunen. Die Girls zogen mich in ihren Bann. Schon das Opening war stark. Das Original Video, welches ich damals sah, existiert nicht mehr auf Youtube, aber eines von der ganzen Show, welches allerdings das vollständige Intro zeigt. Ich weiß nicht, ob ich weitergesehen hätte, wenn ich dies zuerst mir hätte anschauen müssen. Das ist ein wenig langatmig – sorry – meine Meinung. So konnte ich direkt einsteigen als die Show beginnt (das hier eingebundene Video springt direkt zu diesem Zeitpunkt: 4:10).

Ich war irgendwie angesteckt von diesem K-POP-Virus und wusste es noch nicht. Ich wollte nur wissen, wer diese Girls sind, und woher sie kommen und durchsuchte Youtube immer wieder nach SNSD und K-POP. Schon damals entdeckte ich auch, dass es neben K-POP auch J-POP gab, doch 2012 beeindruckte mich J-POP noch gar nicht. Erst vor kurzem hab ich wieder auch mal J-POP Videos angesehen und besseren Zugang gefunden, dazu mehr in kommenden Beiträgen.
